Thank you for your interest in the Kellstadt Marketing Group (KMG). We are seeking diverse, ambitious, and creative graduate students who will serve on the KMG board this coming school year. Below you will find information about the organization, member benefits, as well as open roles, responsibilities and expectations.
KMG’s Mission
The Kellstadt Marketing Group is a community of students, alumni, faculty, professionals and businesses with a common interest in the learning and practice of marketing. KMG serves as a hub for professional networking, idea exchange, academic enrichment, career development and more. Our motto is to inspire, enrich and connect.
KMG works in line with the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business with the mutual interest to enhance the value, reputation and educational excellence of the institution.
Who can apply to the Leadership Board?
For consideration for a board position, you must be a full-time or part-time graduate student. KMG accepts applications from all programs. Board members must be able to serve and actively participate in events for the full academic year 2025-26. Member expectations include:
Utmost professionalism (as you are the representative of the organization and the school)
Teamwork, respect, communication, creativity and diversity.
Promote a culture of personal and professional growth
Board members must be able to dedicate 8 hours on average per week (sometimes more or less depending on the role). Monthly board meetings are set at the beginning of each quarter as decided by the team.
By joining the KMG Board, you will have a unique opportunity to build leadership experience, grow your professional network, and make a positive impact on the Kellstadt community. You will be closely involved in the decision-making, execution and program development on campus.
TIMELINE
FRIDAY, MAY 31,2025: APPLICATIONS FOR THE ROLE OF PRESIDENT DUE.
VP Applications assessed on a rolling basis, open until filled.
WE EXPECT TO HAVE A PRESIDENT SELECTED BY MID-JUNE.
THE INCOMING PRESIDENT WILL FORM THEIR BOARD OF VPS BY:
Reviewing submitted VP applications
Interviewing and Selecting VPs during the summer months
THE VPS AND PRESIDENTS WILL THEN MOVE FORWARD WITH SELECTION OF DIRECTOR POSITIONS.
ALL POSITIONS WILL BE FILLED LATEST BY THE BEGINNING OF AUTUMN 2025 QUARTER.
HOW TO APPLY
KMG Executive Leadership Board Responsibilities
The KMG Leadership Board sets the strategic goals and initiatives that uphold the KMG mission. The Board is responsible for continuously building and elevating the KMG brand with students, faculty, alumni, and outside organizations by hosting impactful events. The Leadership Board exists to provide a platform for members to expand their professional network and to share information and resources to help members develop marketing knowledge and skills. Additionally, the Board preserves the collective history and knowledge of the organization, plans events for the year, monitors performance, collaborates closely with the University, executes consistent programming and develops leadership succession to assure the continuity of the organization. Below is the list of current open positions.
Board members are encouraged to recruit, build and lead a committee to help them carry out KMG objectives throughout the school year. Committee recruitment kicks off during fall orientation where board members take lead in building teams for their respective area of responsibility.

President
Overall responsibility: Drive the organization’s mission and values, continually build the brand and reputation of KMG, and supervise all department operations to ensure the success and longevity of the organization. This role will require significant cross collaboration with all officers of the organization. The following tasks are expected:
Job Description:
Manage and effectively motivate a team of VPs and other volunteers to develop and implement organization initiatives
Maintain and develop key stakeholder relationships with speakers, members, alumni, as well as corporate and departmental partners
Provide support to the VPs and their respective teams to ensure the smooth operations of events and internal functions
Oversee an annual budget and seek new ways to generate revenue to support the organization's mission and values
Develop quarterly reports and present to the Marketing Advisory Committee
Organize check ins and meetings with the Leadership Board and General Assembly as necessary
Attend interdepartmental meetings with other student leaders and staff members
Demonstrate a strong desire to improve the organization, create networking opportunities for marketing professionals, and overall encourage the success of the overall DePaul business community
Relevant Skills:
Ability to multitask and quickly adapt to last minute changes
Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative spirit
Leadership experience preferred
Public speaking experience preferred
Experience in event/program management - not required, but preferred
VP IT & Analytics
Overall Responsibility: Publish and update the organization’s website with relevant events and content. Ensure the functionality of the website by keeping pages up-to-date.
Job Description:
Manage the KMG website, ensuring all pre and post event-related content, corporate sponsorship, and membership information is updated
Collaborate with Public Relations and Communication officer(s) to plan and source relevant blog content
Improve design website layout with additional features, optimize content delivery and enhance visual appeal
Monitor Google Analytics to identify and and improve user engagement, improve KMG’s online presence
Create and deliver DeHub Event Listings/Google Forms/Eventbrite Forms for seamless participant registration
Relevant Skills:
Prior experience utilizing website building and hosting software, specifically Squarespace is preferred
Knowledge in Google Analytics a plus
VP Public Relations & Membership Growth
Overall Responsibility: Develop key messaging, content and communications for key stakeholders and various target audiences to ensure clarity and consistency among all communication channels and promote increased membership, engagement, and outreach among students, alumni, and faculty.
Job Description:
Develop a message house for KMG in conjunction with the brand for utilization across various media channels: e-mail blasts, website, blog posts, press releases, social media etc.
Develop and drive short/long term engagement strategy to continuously build and elevate the brand by promoting engagement and participation of alumni, marketing professionals, and other organizations; Evaluate paid membership strategy
Work with the President to maintain and build relationships with the business community around DePaul, including speaker engagement and outreach.
Manage internal email distribution and member lists, monitor current membership numbers, track attendance, and strategize ways to improve.
Develop and disseminate event related communication such as flyers, event link, email to members, communication with participants etc.
Liaise with the social media and IT team to effectively update the website with new content: event recaps, member and alumni spotlights, board bios, blog posts, professional development posts, market trends, etc.
Lead recruitment efforts and liaise with other student organizations and faculty to foster long-term relationship and build reputation for KMG
Seek opportunities to get KMG included in publications including DePaul, Business Exchange and AMA materials
Maintain repository of content and creatives for events
Relevant Skills:
Strong writing and editing skills
Experience with graphic design software such as Canva, Photoshop, etc. preferred
Mailchimp or Hubspot experience preferred
VP Event Management
Overall Responsibility: Lead the strategic and logistical coordination of all KMG hosted and sponsored events.
Job Description:
Collaborate with all KMG board members to develop an event calendar for the year
Manage all logistics for events (e.g. venue reservation, registration, promotion, travel, food/beverage, audio/visual, agenda, etc.)
Coordinate with Social Media, PR, and IT teams to develop promotional content for distribution via university partners, website, social media, etc.
Coordinate with DePaul internal departments, mainly Department of Marketing, Conference Service, Chartwells and Organization of Student Involvement (OSI).
Identify opportunities for collaboration with other department or Organizations.
Lead events committee
Relevant Skills:
Prior experience in events/program management strongly encouraged
Strong proactive, interpersonal, attention-to-detail, and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and quickly adapt to last minute changes
Familiarity with Eventbrite preferred (but not required)
VP Sponsorship & Corporate Relations
Overall responsibility: Maintain and pursue corporate relationships and sponsorship throughout the year.
Job Description:
Create a Corporate Relations and Sponsorship strategy for the year, which is vital to the KMG budget.
Evaluate KMG’s previous sponsorship package and update package/offerings as needed
Create target list of new KMG sponsors including alumni companies/organizations and pursue sponsorship opportunities year-round
Follow up with current sponsors, maintaining relationships and pursuing increased sponsorship with them.
Create professional sponsorship “sell” materials for presentation to corporations, alumni, faculty, etc.
Leverage and build relationships with outside businesses and find creative ways to collaborate with KMG.
Lead Sponsorship committee (business outreach, sponsorship contract and development).
Relevant Skills:
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Prior experience in sales or fundraising capacity preferred
VP Social Media
Overall Responsibility: Grow social media channels and build KMG brand, by sharing key information and promoting engagement amongst students, alumni, and other organizations.
Job Description:
Develop a social media strategy for the year to grow users, build brand awareness and increase engagement.
Maintain the Board’s social media presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and more.
Create communications for students, faculty and alumni to drive Registration/Signups
Monitor social media channels and respond to questions, comments and feedback regarding Kellstadt and KMG.
Create strategies and specific plans for utilizing social media in promoting upcoming events (i.e. schedule board member posts to generate activity within each platform)
Work with VP of Marketing, Membership, PR to establish consistency in messaging and establish integrated communications channels
Analyze data and social media effectiveness to continue to improve marketing strategy
Ensure that the KMG brand identity is consistent and professional for all events and communications
Create flyers and posts within Canva/Photoshop following brand guidelines
Relevant Skills:
Experience with LinkedIn, FB, Twitter, Instagram/Reels
Experience with graphic design software such as Canva, Photoshop, etc. preferred
Prior experience with social media and social media analytics
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
VP Finance
Overall Responsibility: Provide financial support for KMG operations, events, and officer initiatives. Manage all collective assets for the organization and execute cost savings strategies whenever possible. This role will require significant cross collaboration with all officers of the organization. The following tasks are expected:
Job Description:
Manage the annual budget and plan the financials for all KMG expenditures
Utilize financial modeling based on past attendance expectations to advise and assist the financial planning of events and additional organization initiatives
Maintain documentation for all organization spendings and organize all materials for easy navigation
Collaborate with Corporate Sponsorship officer to increase KMG assets, resources and finances
Complete the annual collective asset report and ensure financial transparency for all officers
Ensure close communication with marketing department lead, Elizabeth Sloan, regarding the budget
Relevant Skills:
Basic understanding of financial modeling
Some accounting knowledge is a plus
Advanced Excel
Strong organization and communication skills
Familiarity with Paypal, online banking, and e-payments
Other Ways to Be Involved With KMG
For students looking to participate, but don’t have the time commitment to serve on the Board, we have numerous positions available within the Committee groups. We look for a diverse group of talent to help us carry out various functions, including creatives, photographers, writers, webmasters, SEO experts, social media gurus, speakers, moderators, data analysts, strategists and more.
We believe in life-long learning through experience. We are dedicated to help our members grow and will work with you to find a way where you can put your expertise and leadership skills to practice. As a committee member, you will be able to expand your network by working closely with marketing faculty, alumni and other graduate students to build programs and events.
